What data we process

We process the data you give us directly, and the data that's generated by you visiting our website. Specifically:

  • your first and last name
  • your email address
  • your phone number (if you give it to us)
  • the content of any message you send us
  • your IP address
  • your age confirmation (18 or older / not confirmed)
  • how you use our website (via cookies and analytics tools, if and where used — see Part 2)
Why we use it, and on what legal basis

Age verification gate. Before you can view the site, we ask you to confirm you are 18 or older. We're legally required to keep alcohol marketing away from minors, so this check is necessary for us to comply with Dutch and EU rules on advertising alcoholic beverages. Your confirmation is stored in your browser (e.g. as a cookie or local storage entry) so you don't have to repeat it on every visit. We do not link this confirmation to your name or identity it's a simple yes/no flag tied to your browser, not to you personally.

Contact form. If you fill in our contact form, we process your name, email address, and whatever you write in your message. We do this based on our legitimate interest in answering your question. We keep this data for a maximum of six months after we've dealt with your request, unless a longer relationship (e.g. a business partnership) follows in that case the retention periods below apply.

Business or partner contacts. If a business relationship develops (e.g. with a retailer, distributor, or partner), we process the contact details of the people we deal with, based on the performance of that agreement. We keep this data for up to two years after the relationship ends, except where the law requires longer retention (e.g. seven years for financial records, under Dutch tax law).

Website behaviour. If and where we use cookies or analytics tools to see how visitors use our site (see Part 2), we do so on the basis of your consent for anything non-essential, and on the basis of our legitimate interest for strictly necessary/functional cookies. We use this to improve the website.

Legal obligations. Sometimes we have to process data because the law requires it for example for our tax filings.

When we share data with others

We only share your data with others when it's necessary to run our website or business, or when the law requires it. We enter into a data processing agreement with every party that processes data on our behalf. Depending on what's actually active on the site, this can include:

  • our website hosting provider
  • our email provider
  • analytics or advertising tools, if and when we add them (e.g. Google, Meta)

If data goes to a country outside the European Economic Area (EEA), such as the United States, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF), where the relevant provider is certified.

(We haven't found any active third-party analytics or advertising scripts on novodka.world at the time of writing see the note under Part 2. If that changes, this section and the cookie table need to be updated to name the actual tools.)

How we protect your data

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, unauthorised access, or disclosure, including:

  • encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS) for all traffic through our website
  • restricted access: only authorised staff can access personal data

Think there's been a data breach or unauthorised access? Let us know immediately at info@novodka.world.

Minors

Our website and its content are not intended for anyone under the legal drinking age in their country of residence, and in any case not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors — this is exactly why the age gate exists. If you believe we've accidentally collected data from a minor, email us at info@novodka.world and we'll delete it as soon as possible.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights over your own data:

  • Access — ask what data we hold about you
  • Rectification — have incorrect data corrected
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data
  • Restriction — have processing limited
  • Portability — receive your data in a common format
  • Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interest
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on your consent

Send a request to info@novodka.world. To confirm your identity, we may ask for a copy of your ID — please black out your photo, national ID number, passport number, and the machine-readable zone (MRZ) before sending it.

We respond within one month. If your request is complex, we may extend this by two months — we'll let you know in time.

If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl), or with the supervisory authority in your own EU/EEA country of residence.

PART 2: COOKIES

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you first visit a website. Cookies help a site run properly, remember your preferences (like your age confirmation), and let us see how visitors use the site.

Which cookies we use

Strictly necessary / functional cookies (no consent needed). These are required for the website to work — most importantly, remembering that you've confirmed you're 18 or older, so you're not asked again on every page. We place these without asking for consent because they're strictly necessary.

Analytics and marketing cookies (consent needed), if used. As of this update, we are not aware of any analytics or advertising cookies actively running on novodka.world. If we add tools like Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar in the future, we will only place those cookies after you give consent via a cookie banner, and we will update this section to name the specific tools.

Managing your cookies

Because the only cookie currently in use is the strictly necessary age-verification cookie, there's no cookie banner on the site at the moment. If that changes, you'll be able to manage your preferences through a cookie banner. In any case, you can always manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that turning off the age-verification cookie means you'll be asked to confirm your age again on your next visit.

Overview of cookies placed

Name: age-verification (exact name depends on implementation)
Purpose: Remembers that you confirmed you're 18+
Type: Strictly necessary
Duration: Typically 30 days or session-based

We recommend checking the actual cookie(s) set in your browser's developer tools (Application → Cookies) to confirm the exact name and duration used by your site's implementation, and updating this table to match.

Third-party cookies

We link out to our Instagram page (instagram.com/novodka.world). If you click through, Instagram/Meta may set their own cookies on their platform — we have no control over those. See Meta's privacy policy at facebook.com/policy for details.
